NeoCon 2017 is quickly approaching. With approximately one million square feet of exhibition space, three floors of showrooms, and one floor of temporary exhibitors, the annual commercial design show will be held June 12–14 at TheMART in Chicago. The three-day show is the site of thousands of new product launches every year. The May and June issues of Contract both feature a detailed overview of the show. The May issue includes the 2017 Official NeoCon Product Preview, which highlights product introductions, events, Chicago art highlights, and features an exclusive interview with keynote speaker Arianna Huffington.
On Sunday, June 11, at 4 p.m., Contract will announce the winners of the annual Inspirations Awards at a reception in the Tarkett showroom inside theMART. The Inspirations Awards celebrate leadership in socially responsible design among commercial interior designers and architects. The winners are honored for work designed for a worthy cause, and the clients receive a grant from Tarkett, the awards sponsor.
Tarkett has significantly increased the grant funding for winners of the 2017 Inspirations Awards. This year, the jury will award three grants to the top three projects. All grants will be awarded to the cause (the client) supported by the work. The Grand Prize is $10,000, and two additional grants of $3,000 and $2,000 will also be awarded.
